Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana was started in 2007 as an umbrella scheme for assuring the all-encompassing advancement of agribusiness and united administrations. This scheme aims to promote Agri preneurship and agribusiness by facilitating financial support and nurturing an incubation ecosystem. This was a new component of the revamped scheme RKVY-RAFTAAR for 2018-19.

These incubators will, in turn, be able to invite Agri preneurs through the various phases of the business life cycle and provide them an opportunity to generate innovations in agriculture and allied services. The innovations can apply to technology, processes, products, or services that will enhance efficiency in agriculture and allied services.

In 2020-21, the Ministry of Agriculture will provide funding for startups through the innovation and entrepreneurship component of RKVY. These startups may operate in industries such as agro-processing, digital agriculture, farm mechanisms, fisheries, dairy, and artificial intelligence.

Disturbed by the lagging development in the Agriculture and unified areas, the National Development Council (NDC), in its gathering hung on 29th May 2007 settled that a unique Additional Central Assistance Scheme (RKVY) be sent off. Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana Benefits:

The benefits of the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) are as follows-

Agripreneurship Orientation- The orientation is offered for two months with a stipend of Rs.10,000 per month and provides mentorship on various financial, technical, and other issues.

Seed Stage Funding of R-ABI Incubatees- The incubator will be funded up to Rs.25 lakhs (85% grant and 15% contribution from the incubator) This will be provided to all incubators of R-ABI These incubators must be Indian start-ups and must be registered as legal entities in India with at least two months of residency at R-ABI.

Idea/Pre-Seed Stage Funding of Agripreneurs- RKVY-RFTAAAR is funded up to a maximum of 5 lakhs (90% is a grant and 10% is an incubator contribution) and will continue to be administered as a Centrally sponsored scheme with a sharing pattern of 60: 40, i.e. government of India and state share, except for northeastern and hilly states where the sharing pattern is 90:10. For units of government, the grant is 100% as a central share.
